Brazilian band made up of musicians with disabilities takes the stage on March 26 at Sesc Centro Goiânia, as part of the Claque Cultural project, at 6:30 PM.
Sr. Souls returns to the stage of Sesc Centro Goiânia on Thursday, March 26, at 6:30 PM, with a free concert blending original music, spoken word poetry, and sharp social commentary. The performance is part of the Claque Cultural project and reinforces the band’s mission to turn the stage into a space for representation, reflection, and resistance against ableism.
Art as a tool for resistance
Composed entirely of musicians with disabilities, Sr. Souls stands out as one of the most distinctive projects in Goiás’ cultural scene. The setlist combines Brazilian popular music (MPB), rock, and spoken word, creating performances that speak directly to audiences and spotlight voices that have long been pushed to the margins.
Leading the band is singer, songwriter, and cultural producer Silvio Soũls, a Goiânia-based artist whose work sits at the intersection of music, literature, and social action. As a person with a disability himself, Silvio draws on his lived experience to fuel an engaged artistic output that connects with public policy and inclusion initiatives.
The stage becomes a space for representation, reflection, and resistance against ableism — through original music, poetry, and social discourse.
Putting sanitation workers at center stage
Among his most impactful projects, Silvio Soũls has developed sociocultural initiatives focused on recognizing the dignity of sanitation workers from Comurg — Goiânia’s urban services company — in partnership with the City of Goiânia. These projects include musical workshops, choral activities, and performances that place these workers at the heart of the cultural scene, granting them visibility and protagonism through art.
Throughout 2025, the artist stepped up his presence in the capital with performances at cultural venues, participation in publicly funded projects, and touring with Sr. Souls at events focused on diversity and inclusion. The year also marked a deepening of his efforts to bridge culture and social impact.
A reunion with an inclusive space
Returning to Sesc Centro Goiânia means reconnecting with a venue known for championing accessible and plural culture. The show promises to go beyond entertainment, offering a sensitive, critical experience rooted in the most pressing conversations of our time.
