With German chancellor present, Siemens used Christ the Redeemer to demonstrate industrial AI live at Hannover Messe 2026
On April 20, Hannover Messe 2026 featured a symbolic highlight. During an official visit, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz witnessed an activation that placed Brazil at the center of global industrial innovation.
Siemens Brazil used a scale model of Christ the Redeemer to trigger a real-time digital simulation. The system replicated wind forces acting on the monument, enabling predictive maintenance through industrial AI.
Where culture meets technology
The experience combined physical interaction, computational models, and large-scale visualization. This approach remains rare in institutional showcases and highlights advances in industrial artificial intelligence.
“Christ the Redeemer is a symbol that transcends borders and connects people worldwide. By placing it at the center of a technological experience, we show that innovation can emerge from culture,” said Pablo Fava, CEO of Siemens Brazil.
“Christ the Redeemer represents a global ethical commitment in developing new technologies for the common good,” said Father Omar, rector of the sanctuary.
