On Feb. 28 at 1 PM, Cine Araújo screens an animated film with reduced sound, open lights, and open doors for families with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
A Cinema Experience Built Around Inclusion
Cine Araújo is hosting another edition of its monthly Adapted Screening on Saturday, February 28, at 1 PM. The initiative is designed for audiences with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and follows the sensory-friendly protocols established under Brazilian Law 17.272/20, available at all of the chain’s locations.
The featured film is Um Cabra Bom de Bola (working title: Goat on the Ball), an original animated feature set in a world inhabited entirely by animals. The story follows Will, a small but fierce goat who lands a once-in-a-lifetime shot at joining the pros in berrobol — a high-intensity, full-contact sport ruled by the fastest and fiercest animals around.
Will’s new teammates aren’t exactly thrilled to have a small goat on the roster. But Will is set on proving that the little ones can hold their own. The film is rated for ages 10 and up.
Sensory-Friendly Adjustments for a Calmer Experience
Each screening room is carefully prepared to minimize sensory triggers. Here’s what to expect:
Lowered volume: audio is kept between 3.0 and 3.5 dB — significantly quieter than a standard screening.
Partial lighting: the lights remain partially on throughout the entire film, so the room is never completely dark.
Controlled temperature: air conditioning is set to a minimum of 22ºC to keep the environment comfortable and mild.
Open doors: exit doors stay open so guests can move freely or step out for a break whenever needed.
No pre-show content: the film starts exactly on time — no trailers, no ads.
