Brazilian actress Paolla Oliveira used Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses to capture a one-on-one backstage moment with Shakira after the singer’s massive Rio show.
Not every celebrity encounter makes it online — but this one did, in full, from the perspective of the person living it. After Shakira’s landmark performance on the sands of Copacabana, Paolla Oliveira headed backstage with her Ray-Ban Meta glasses and shared every second of the experience with her Instagram followers as it unfolded.
Inside the backstage
The two talked, danced together, and Paolla’s point-of-view footage captured it all in real time. The video quickly went viral, turning what would have been a private backstage memory into a shared experience for her audience.
“Meeting Shakira is already a special and unforgettable moment in itself, but being able to live it naturally and still have those images makes all the difference. Backstage has a very unique energy — these are moments that usually only exist in the memory of those who were there,” the actress said.
“I was so happy to capture and share that perspective in a real way with the people who follow me — as if they were living it alongside me.”
A night for 2 million people
Shakira’s free concert drew an estimated 2 million people to Copacabana Beach, making it one of the largest musical events in Brazilian history. The show featured special guest appearances by Ivete Sangalo, Anitta, Caetano Veloso, and Maria Bethânia — the latter of whom received a public audio tribute from the Colombian star. The event is part of Rio’s ongoing Todo Mundo no Rio series, which previously hosted Madonna in 2024 and Lady Gaga in 2025.
A celebrated actress and samba queen at Rio’s Grande Rio school, Paolla Oliveira was among the guests who experienced the night both in the crowd and behind the curtain — and made sure no one had to miss out.
