Across generations, Ravi Brasileiro and Carlos Careqa create “61 91”, a song and video that turn imperfection into art and reflect on time.
At 64, Carlos Careqa has always walked ahead of his time. At 34, Ravi Brasileiro lives the present with rare intensity. Their thirty-year age gap became the creative pulse of “61 91”, a track that merges past and future through music and meaning.
A generational dialogue
The idea emerged at Teatro do Paiol, a historical venue in Brazilian music. When Careqa realized he was born in 1961 and Ravi in 1991, a story began to take form — one that bridges decades through sound and reflection.
Produced by Victória Ruiz, the track gained its distinctive sound from an unexpected glitch during Ravi’s first recording with a Quad Cortex. Instead of fixing the flaw, Ruiz turned it into sonic texture, embodying the beauty of imperfection.
Balancing playfulness and depth, the song embodies Careqa’s theatrical flair and Ravi’s modern sensibility. As Careqa reflects: “Time is the master of all stories – cruel, yet kind.”
Visual narrative
Directed by Oruê Brasileiro with cinematography by Fernanda Simões, the “61 91” music video brings the concept of temporal flow to life through light, movement, and contrast. It’s a poetic exploration of generational dance between life and death, past and future.
Artificial intelligence appears as a creative extension rather than a replacement, expanding the meaning of artistic collaboration across ages and technologies.
“Out-of-time aesthetics blend past and future — but no one knows what tomorrow’s style will be,” says Ravi Brasileiro.
“61 91” was supported by the Paraná State Department of Culture through the Paulo Gustavo Law and Brazil’s Ministry of Culture.
