After its strongest ratings run since launch, Operation Border Brazil premieres season 5 on February 4, opening with three back-to-back episodes at 8:30 p.m.
The new season lands simultaneously on HBO Max and Discovery. On premiere night, the franchise kicks off with three consecutive episodes, aiming for a fast, high-stakes start designed to widen the show’s reach across pay TV and streaming.
Premiere date, time, and weekly rollout
Season 5 launches on February 4. Starting at 8:30 p.m., HBO Max and Discovery air three brand-new episodes in a row. From the following Wednesday onward, the schedule shifts to two episodes per week on both the linear channel and the streaming platform.
Ratings: best performance since the show began
The renewed push comes with momentum. Season 4, released in February 2025, kept Discovery ranked No. 1 in the Factual category and placed the channel among pay TV’s Top 15.
Compared with season 3, the series delivered a +45% audience increase, its best outcome since 2022, the year the franchise premiered. The results position the title as one of Discovery’s highest-performing in-house productions.
Who makes the series
Operation Border Brazil is a co-production between Mixer Films and Warner Bros. Discovery. Sergio Nakasone, Adriana Cechetti, and Patricio Díaz oversee the production for Warner Bros. Discovery.
On the Mixer Films side, Adriana Marques serves as executive producer, with Rodrigo Astiz as general director. According to the official announcement, the new episodes feature “surprising” scenarios across the series’ police-focused storytelling.
