Golden Globes makes historic Brazil debut

After 82 years, the Golden Globes holds its first gala in Brazil, honoring Fernanda Montenegro and Antônio Pitanga in Rio.

The Golden Globes opened a new chapter on Wednesday (18). For the first time, the Golden Globes Tribute Gala was held in Brazil, with a landmark edition at the Copacabana Palace hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

The ceremony honored Fernanda Montenegro and Antônio Pitanga for their emblematic careers in film, theater and television, underscoring their lasting influence on Brazilian culture.

Rio hosts a landmark gala

The Brazil debut carries symbolic weight. It also positions the country as a stage for global events with strong cultural and artistic relevance.

Hosted by Bruna Marquezine and Lázaro Ramos, the evening followed a gala format with dinner, awards and live musical performances.

The event also celebrated Valentina Herszage and Adolpho Veloso, recognizing the growing international reach of Brazilian talent.

Red carpet draws prominent guests

Guests included Sabrina Sato, Nicolas Prattes, Ticiane Pinheiro, Didi Wagner, Silvia Braz, Malu Borges, Lívia Nunes, Jordanna Maia, Maria Braz and Paula Saric.

As a result, the first Brazilian edition of the Golden Globes Tribute Gala brought together figures from entertainment, fashion and the digital world for a high-profile night in Rio.
